lyrics

Fire spoke to me one night
Years ago, when I was young
Sittin’ in the woods with a couple of friends

It told me of the world ahead
Lots of crying, people dead
And everything red and full of flame

I put it away, to this day
And when we went to sleep that night
We put out the fire with our piss

But in the night, my friend he saw
A strange light and heard a man’s words
He would never forget

In the mornin’, we laughed and joked
And walked from those old woods
And didn’t see each other for a while

It was only yesterday I heard
What had happened that night
My friend was cryin’ on the phone

It took me back to a simpler time
At only about half past nine
When we were so fresh and full of life

I still don’t know what that man said
But I think it wasn’t good
And I just hope it wasn’t the devil himself
